Brenton, 80, of Terre Haute died at 12:03 a.m.
Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 in Harborside Healthcare.
He was a teacher with the Vigo County School
Corp. for 38 years and was employed with the
Vigo County Board of Health for 30 years. He
was born May 15, 1921, in Clay County to Charles
H. Brenton and Elsie Morris Brenton. Survivors
include his wife, Dorothy Brenton; one son, Greg
Brenton; four daughters, Carol Ann Carpenter and
her husband Mel, Sandy Boswell and her husband
Jim, Donna M. McCleary, and Suellyn Davidson and
her husband Bob; one sister-in-law, Dorothy L.
Brenton; six grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his
parents; and one brother, Norman W. Brenton. He
taught at Fontanet High School, McLean Junior
High School and Chauncey Rose Junior High
School. He was a member of Retired Teachers
Association and attended Higher Ground Christian
Center. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim
Palmer officiating. Burial is in Roselawn
Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday.
