Malcolm O. Carrithers, 83, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday Oct. 17, 2007. He was born Nov. 28, 1923 in Vigo County, the son of William Carrithers and Althea Lillian Hix Carrithers.

He married Norma Steward and she preceded him. He retired from CBS and was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Sulfur Springs Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Rosedale American Legion Post 290.

Survivors include a brother, William Junior Carrithers and wife Pauline of Rosedale; a brother-in-law, Charles Earles of Fontanet; a sister-in-law, Edith; and several nieces and nephews he helped raise, Carolyn, Richard and Joan Carrithers. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, James, Howard and Raymond Carrithers; and two sisters, Lela Earles and Wilma Hargis.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
