Cox
Class of 1949
Richard
Cox, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday,
June 1, 2006, in Indianapolis. He had worked for
the Pillsbury Corporation. He was born Dec. 30,
1929, in Terre Haute, to Paul E. Cox and Essie
Thelma Runnels Cox. He married Ruby Eleanor
Hamilton, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Richard F. Cox and wife
Diana of Floral City, Fla.; a daughter, Lana D.
Cox-Trejo and husband Alex of Terre Haute;
grandchildren, Matthew Smith and Ariana E.
Trejo, both of Terre Haute, Meagan-Leigh G. Cox,
and Caleb Cox, both of Florida; two brothers,
Paul E. Cox and wife Joan, and Kenneth A. Cox,
all of Terre Haute; and several nieces and
nephews. He also was preceded in death by his
parents; and a brother, Don Cox.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean
War. He attended St. Ann Catholic Church, and
was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the
American Legion. He also was a Freemason.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Funeral
Home, with Sister Connie Kramer officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The
VFW will perform military burial services at the
funeral home. Visitation is 11 a.m. until
services Tuesday.
