ROSEDALE —
Richard Davies, 73, of Rosedale died at 4:50
a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, in Terre Haute
Regional Hospital. He was employed by Alcan in
maintenance and owned and operated Davies
Antique Motorcycle Restoration.
He was born May 30, 1933, in Fontanet to Rhys
Hopkins Davies and Pearl Melvina McGrannahan
Davies. Survivors include his wife of 49 years,
Lavera Knopp Davies; one son, Roy Edward Davies
and his wife, Christine; two daughters, Mary
Beth Ream and Rebecca Lynn Bailey and her
husband, Todd; grandchildren, Kate Elizabeth
Ream Vannoy and her husband, Stephen, Maggie
Jean Ream Rife and her husband, Rick, Dustin
Cedrick Maggard, Johnathan Harley Davidson,
Delaynee Trista Bailey, Jayden Storm Bailey,
Joshua Neal Ganly, Kara Eileen Ganly, Katherine
Elizabeth Davies; and one great-grandson,
William Rhys Vannoy. He was preceded in death by
his parents; and sisters and brothers, William
Rhys, Tommy “Dink,” Edward Mary Elizabeth
Davies-Richardson, Roy.
He was a 1951 graduate of Fontanet High School,
served on the board of directors of the Maumee
Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of
America (AMCA), the Ohio Valley Chapter and the
Prairie Chapter of the AMCA, the Indian
4-Cylinder Club, and was a licensed gunsmith. He
was an Army veteran.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Mattox-Wood
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Herb
officiating. Burial is in Markle Cemetery, with
graveside military rites. Visitation is 4 to 8
p.m. today, in the funeral home. |
