Keith H. Gregory
Class of 1941
ROSEDALE — Keith H. Gregory, 85, of Rosedale
died at 6:12 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at
Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was a retired
coal miner and a machinist.
He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Burnett to the
late John Gregory and Kate Hayne Gregory.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Roxanna
Davis Gregory whom he married March 22, 1941, in
Brazil; one son, Robert Gregory and wife Barb
Gregory of Rosedale; two daughters, Diana
Darbutt of Terre Haute and Barbara Leitgabel of
Rosedale; six grandchildren, Lee Ann Brubeck and
husband DJ, Kevin Lawson and wife Robin, David
Leitgabel and wife Lisa, Robert Gregory and wife
Desiree, Treasea Haney and husband David, and
Beth Leitgabel; 10 great-grandchildren, Levi
Brubeck, Zach Haney, Taylor Haney, Myley Haney,
Maddison Lawson, Karlie Leitgabel, Klayton
Lawson, Brandon Haney, Lorynn Leitgabel and
Sebastian James; sisters-in law; a
brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary
Gregory; three brothers, Joseph Gregory, William
“Burt” Gregory and John Gregory; a son-in-law,
Joseph Darbutt; and a grandson, Michael
Leitgabel.
He was a 1941 graduate of Fontanet High School.
He served in the 6th Marine Division during
World War II. He was a member of the Rosedale
Masonic Lodge 259. He loved fishing, hunting,
camping and spending time with his family.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cottrell-Gooch
Funeral Home, 287 Main St. in Rosedale, with the
Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Burial with
graveside military honors by the Rosedale
American Legion Tony Kashon Post 290 will follow
in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8
p.m. today at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home and
before services on Tuesday. Memorials, should
friends so desire, may be made to the charity of
choice.
