TERRE HAUTE — BRAZIL — Velvet Joann (Snow)
Oxendine Lovett, 63, of Brazil, passed away Jan.
28, 2011, at the Exceptional Living Center of
Brazil, following a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Terre Haute, the
daughter of Otto and Flossie (Bemis) Snow.
Joann graduated from Gerstmeyer High School with
the class of 1965. Following high school, Joann
worked for General Housewares, in Terre Haute.
She also worked at Boston Scientific in Spencer
and most recently Goodwill Industries in Brazil.
Joann retired last year due to failing health.
Joann married Bill Lovett on Nov. 11, 1995; he
survives.
Joann enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren and working with photography.
Joann leaves behind her husband; daughter, Debra
Bryan and husband Derek; granddaughters, Tailor,
Samantha and Lauren, all of Terre Haute; four
stepchildren, Debbie Waymire of Brazil, Bobbi
Lovett of Brazil, Ginger Lovett of West Terre
Haute and Crissy Lawson and husband Brandon of
Brazil; 17 stepgrandchildren; 20
stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Reva Allsup of
California, Doris Hire and husband Jim of Terre
Haute, Lavone Channey and husband Ed of
Oklahoma, Dianna Harlan of Terre Haute and Wanda
Sullivan and husband Charlie of Terre Haute;
brothers, Tony Snow and wife Linda of Terre
Haute and Rickie Snow and wife Barbie of
Arizona; and several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and
stepson, Bill Allen Lovett.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday,
Feb. 1, 2011, at French Funeral Home. Services
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral
home, with Pastor Dick McShanog officiating. In
lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Relay
for Life, Attn: Kathy White, 1 E. National Bank,
Brazil, IN 47834.
