Alan
Ray McClain, 62, of Terre Haute, died at 5:26
p.m. Tuesday April 14, 2009, in Union Hospital.
He was an employee at AET for 33 years. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Air Guard. He was born April
6, 1947, in Fontanet to William Alan McClain and
Vivian Marie Marquis McClain. He is
survived by his wife, Carolyn Jones McClain;
three sons, Tony McClain and wife Kathy of
Clinton, Mark Alan McClain of Rosedale and Sean
McClain of Rosedale; two stepdaughters, Rhonda
Shellhammer and husband Max of Clay City, Shawn
Havens and husband Aaron of Terre Haute; one
stepson, Martin Robbins and wife Brenda of
Rosedale; two brothers, Bill McClain and wife
Ester of Fontanet, Gary McClain and wife Sharon
of Dayton Ohio; one brother-in-law, Allen Newman
and wife Mary Lou; one sister-in-law, Barbara
Carpenter and husband Kenny; nine grandchildren,
Alex, Jaycee, Jessica, Brittany, and Donovan
McClain, Laura and Josh Robbins, Dylan Davis and
Jessica Havens. He was preceded in death by his
parents; one sister, Mary Lou Newman; and two
brothers, Sam McClain and James Norman (Marty)
McClain. He was Past Master of Rosedale
Masonic Lodge 259 and also a member of
Bridgetown Order of Eastern Star 324,
Krietenstein American Legion Post 104, Marine
Corps League, Vigo County Conservation Club,
North American Hunting Club, Montezuma Fish and
Game Club. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m.
today at Mattox Wood Funeral Home with a Masonic
Service at 7 p.m. A private funeral service will
be at a later date. Burial will be in Roselawn
Memorial Park.
