Moreland
Class of 1941
TERRE HAUTE —
Lewis “Red” Moreland, 88, of Terre Haute, passed
away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 25, 2011, at home
with his family. He was born Nov. 23, 1923, in
Ermandale, to Lewis and Gracie Moreland.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Shores
Moreland, whom he married May 3, 1944; two sons,
Mike Moreland and wife Sue, and Bob Moreland and
wife Joanna; seven grandchildren, Tom Moreland
and wife Melissa, Gary Moreland, Dan Moreland
and Dave Moreland, Amy Pell, Cheryl Owens and
husband Brian, and Lora Moreland; 14
great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents; four sisters, Sarah,
Essie, Viola and Naomi; and one brother, Clyde
Moreland.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, mushroom
hunting, and working in the yard. He was a big
Indiana University and Cardinals fan
There will be no services. Mattox-Wood Funeral
Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. |
