Robert E. VanHook
Class of 1947
ROSEDALE — Robert E. VanHook, of Rosedale, died
at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Meadows
Manor North.
He was born Sept. 12, 1929, to James W. VanHook
and Opal Kyle VanHook. He was retired from
Alcan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Julia
VanHook; a daughter, Darlene Bosworth and
husband Dan; a son, Rusty VanHook and wife
Monica L. VanHook; one brother, Richard VanHook
and wife Bobbi; two sisters, Phyllis Landis and
Norma Loudermilk; four grandson, Bobby Miller,
Jake Bosworth, Joe Bosworth and John VanHook;
one stepgranddaughter, Catie Spicer; and two
great-grandchildren, Robert C. Miller and Chad
Bosworth.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the
Korean War. He was a member of Rosedale American
Legion Post 290.
There will be no services at this time.
Cremation is scheduled. Burial is in Rosedale
Cemetery. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N.
Lafayette Ave., in Terre Haute, assisted with
arrangements.
