William Eugene Zambinini Sr.
— BRAZIL — William Eugene Zambenini Sr., 73, of
Brazil, passed away at the Exceptional Living
Center, in Brazil, on Aug. 9, 2010, following an
extended illness. He was born in Vigo County, on
Aug. 19, 1936, the son of Isidor V. and Hazel
(Johnson) Zambenini.
Mr. Zambenini attended Fontanet High School.
Bill married Mildred Jones Deal on Feb. 21,
1965. He worked at Allis Chalmers for a short
time before transferring to Amax Coal Company,
where he worked as a welder for 30 years.
He loved to quilt and he made the quilt in the
shape of Clay County that is displayed in the
Indiana State Museum. He was a founding member
of the Indiana Snow Birds Club of Alabama, Avon
Collectors Club of Indianapolis, Bridgeton Lodge
169 Free & Accepted Masons, and the Croy’s Creek
Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Mildred; daughters,
Candis L. Nuttrell (Jim), and Teresa Zambenini;
son, William Zambenini Jr., all of Terre Haute;
stepchildren, Elaine Cassidy (Jack), John Deal,
Sheryl Jordan (Bob), Brad Deal (Robin), and
Denise Deal, all of Brazil; 17 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren (and one on the way); a
brother, Robert L. Zambenini (Joyce) of Los
Alamitos, Calif.; as well as several extended
family members.
Services will be at Lawson–Miller Chapel, on
Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Pastor
Warren Whittington officiating. Burial will
follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be
at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 9
p.m., with Masonic services being held at 6:30
p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to
the Ronald McDonald House Charities, One Kroc
Drive, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
